Hello with Blooms & Just Jade--#tgifc277

Back in April or May when I first saw the five new 2020-2022 In Colors, I would not have thought that Just Jade would be the one I would use the most.  But,  here I am with another Just Jade centric card!!!  Today's card is my entry in this week's sketch challenge from TGIF Challenges.  The sketch includes a watercolor background and a horizontal band.   My card is a pretty straightforward interpretation of the sketch:

My watercolor background started with a wash of Mint Macaron on Fluid 100 watercolor paper (#149612). I added streaks of Just Jade with the edge of my wide water painter (#151298) for a bit of depth to the wash.  Once the wash was dry, I stamped the small blooms cluster image from Bloom & Grow stamp set (#149229) randomly over the wash using Mint Macaron ink.

The focal bloom image was stamped in Just Jade ink on to Whisper White card stock. It was colored with So Saffron, Mango Melody, Magenta Madness, and Misty Moonlight Stampin' Blends Combos, then die cut with a die from the Budding Blooms dies (#149548).  This was arranged over a piece of Just Jade card stock with a scallop edge created with another die in the same die set, wrapped with a piece of Polka Dot Tulle (#146912).

The greeting is also from the Bloom & Grow stamp set.  The card is finished with a layer of Just Jade on Whisper White thick card stock and three Pearl Basic Jewels (#144219).

Life is Better--#tgifc274

My card today is all about texture:  a textured designer series paper pattern, texture in the placement of the paper, texture in the glimmer paper and texture with heat embossing.

I started this card using scrap pieces from this designer series paper pattern from the In Good Taste designer series paper pack (#152494).  I had several different widths of scraps so I decided to use them (plus a couple of other pieces I cut to fill up my space) in a random stripe pattern.  I arranged and adhered the pieces on Whisper White card stock, then sponged the edges of the piece with Night of Navy ink.

A floral image from Bloom & Grow stamp set (#149229) was stamped twice on the striped piece, once right side up and once upside down, in VersaMark ink and then heat embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder.

The greeting from Peaceful Moments stamp set (#151595) was stamped in VersaMark on Night of Navy and also heat embossed in gold.  Both ends of the Night of Navy greeting piece and the slightly larger Gold Glimmer paper piece (also scraps), were punched out using the new Banners Pick a Punch (#153608/available beginning 8/4/2020).  The striped piece was layered over Gold Glimmer Paper and then on a Night of Navy card base.

Have fun using up your paper scraps!!!

Bloom, Grow & Celebrate--#tgifc269

It's technique challenge week at TGIF Challenges.  The technique is "Stamp Your Own Background"--a skill many of us learned before Stampin' Up! offered designer series paper.  Some of my favorite designer series papers are those that have a watercolor background look, so I took those as the inspiration for my stamped background paper:

To create my background, I started by stamping the two small leaf cluster images from Bloom & Grow stamp set randomly on a piece of Shimmery White card stock.  I stamped in Versamark ink and embossed the images with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.  The last step was to apply a wash of Mint Macaron ink across the paper, first a light wash and then  darkened in some places to give it an uneven look.

The focal point is a floral cluster from the Bloom & Grow stamp set (#149229) stamped in VersaMark and embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.  I watercolored the images with Mint Macaron, Just Jade, Bumblebee and Magenta Madness inks and then die cut it with the coordinating die from Budding Blooms die set (#149548).  It was layered over a Square Vellum doily (#152484) and a piece of 1/4" Just Jade Ribbon (#153621).

The greeting is a portion of a greeting from the same stamp set.  It was stamped in VersaMark and embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder on Just Jade card stock, then fussy cut.  Magenta Madness enamel dots from the 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots collection (#152480), a layer of Just Jade and a Whisper White Thick card base complete the card.

Have a great day!
