I have an eclectic group of cards for you today. I just started playing around with circle die cuts for spots and the new color refresh--and these cards are what came of it. My mind runs all over the place and I let it this time! Let's start with the simple geometric card:
For this card, I used our classic Night of Navy and added a returning color, Misty Moonlight, and a new In Color, Boho Blue, as my color palette. I die cut circles using the smallest of the (as I now know) retired Layering Circles dies. The little birds from Seaside Bay stamp set (#160436) and the "Hello" greeting were stamped in Night of Navy on Basic White and then die cut with the same retired circle die. To be honest, I was trying to make a random background with various sized circles-but my mind just does not work that way! The next card also turned out a lot different from my original concept--that pesky non-random mindset again:
My color palette for this card is the new In Color, Pebbled Path (love!!!), the classic Old Olive and the returning Fresh Freesia (which really didn't go away but moved into our core color families!). It is still a simple card, but slightly stepped up. The background was created with the Timber 3D embossing folder (#156406) and the circles were die cut with the second smallest circle die in the Stylish Shapes dies (#159183). The floral images are from the Dainty Delight stamp set (#161078) and Dainty Delight dies (#160674). The circles, the greeting label (also die cut using the Stylish Shapes dies) and the flowers in the image all have little dots to go with the theme. A double bow of Linen Thread (#104199) completes this card. The next card doesn't use circle dies!!!
For this card I used gold foil (#132622), the returning Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon and Soft Sea Foam as my color palette. A piece of Pretty Peacock card stock was die cut with the Dots & Spots die (#159164--love this texture!) and then layered over a piece of gold foil. The focal images are from the Nature's Prints stamp set (#158793) and the Nature's Prints die set (#158800). A gold sequin and a bow of gold Simply Elegant Trim (#155766) complete this simple but stepped up card.
